Elton John's claims of "bullying tactics" are ... bull!

Rocket Man has it wrong ... again.

- July 18, 2004 -

Aging rocker Elton John has claimed that American celebs are "frightened" to speak out against U.S. policies because of "bullying tactics" being employed by the Bush administration.

Is this guy for real? Elton is apparently oblivious to the headline-making noise that Hollywood names have been creating recently in their hysterical campaign to unseat President Bush.

Bush-bashing venom at a recent John Kerry fundraiser (July 8, 2004) came from such mouths as Whoopie Goldberg, Chevy Chase, Jessica Lange, Wycleaf Jean, and John Mellencamp. So "frightened" was Mellencamp that he referred to the President as "just another cheap thug that sacrifices our young" in one of his songs. Among the others who are petrified include Mary J. Blige, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dave Matthews, Jon Bon Jovi, John Leguizamo, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, John Fogerty, Billy Crystal, Ben Affleck, Ben Stiller, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Barbra Streisand, Paul Newman, and Meryl Streep, all of whom have attended recent high-profile Kerry fundraisers.

And has Elton ever heard what Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Rosie O'Donnell, Johnny Depp, Janeane Garofalo, or Alec Baldwin have said in recent months? They sure have not sounded too "frightened" of anything ... except a re-election of President Bush.

This is the second time this year that Elton has gone off the deep end in public remarks. In the spring, Elton attacked the television show American Idol for being "racist" because a few black performers had been voted off the show. Never mind the fact that, as of now, two out of the last three winners of the show have been African-American!

TheMediaReport.com says ... Elton is way out of tune.
