More bunk from Michael Moore

Claiming he's not a Democrat, Moore makes rounds at Democratic Convention

- July 27, 2004 -

Weeks ago, when he made the media rounds in promotion of his "movie" Fahrenheit 9/11, Michael Moore made repeated claims that he was not a member of the Democratic Party (Charlie Rose, Today show) and that he was the "anti-Democrat" (Today show). This lie was exposed when The Smoking Gun dug out Moore's voter registration form, which clearly showed he was registered with the Democrats.

So where has Michael Moore been hanging out this week? At the Democratic National Convention, where he sat next to President and Mrs. Carter on Monday night to watch the proceedings.

Moore also made the interview rounds.

Not a Democrat? Yeah ... right. This is as credible as his movie. Please read Dave Kopel's "59 Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11", if you have not done so already.

[** Update, Wednesday, 7/28/04 ** The Los Angeles Times spreads the Moore myth about his party affiliation in its issue today! Under the headline "He's Not One in Name, but Democrats Sure Like Mike" (p. A11), Times' writer Anne-Marie O'Connor wrote, "[Moore] said he was not a registered Democrat."]
