On June 16, 2004, NBC's Today show aired an interview featuring Matt Lauer with Fahrenheit 9/11 filmmaker Michael Moore. At one point of the interview, Moore said this:

MOORE: "I am not a member of the Democratic Party. If you know anything about me, anybody who's followed me, I am the anti-Democrat."

        Well, a couple weeks later, The Smoking Gun web site exhibited actual forms, including one that appears to be in Moore's own writing, that show he is actively registered as a Democrat in the state of New York. (The site also revealed that he is also simultaneously registered in Michigan, but, according to the site, voters there do not option for a party.)
